Welcome to Project: Happiness!

'Changing the world, one unhappy person at a time!'

Do you want to be happier with your life...?

Are you sick of running into the same problems, over and over again...?

Do you wish you knew how to manage your life better...?

WELCOME! You came to the right place...

Our psychologist-designed programs will give you the skills to make the changes to get you on the road to a happier and more rewarding life!

While you can feel better after a good talk with a friend or relative, for even moderate emotional distress, this relief is only temporary.

Talking with a trained listener helps alleviate emotional distress, and our programs will give you the tools to change your life for good.

Our cognitive behaviour therapists are trained to listen and interact in a way that helps you get to the very root of your emotional concerns, and best of all, show you how to resolve your problems.

We offer you an opportunity to face your difficulties constructively and confidently; freeing you to enjoy all the good things life has to offer.

Don't wait another minute.

Give us a call. 0274 246 059

We'll give you an opportunity to meet with one of our therapists and see which of our programs is right for you.

Stressful Facts:    Did you know... ANXIETY is more prevalent than DEPRESSION

Recently a client told me  that she couldn't remember a time when she didn't feel anxious:

"There's a constant knot in my stomach, and often my hands shake and my palms are sweaty. I don't enjoy life, in fact I don't enjoy anything. I cannot live in the moment and am constantly worried about the future. I cry a lot. I am always rushing, and now I am exhausted"

ANXIETY is the most common mental health disorder in New Zealand. Anxiety is twice as common as depression.

While it is estimated that 70% of anxiety cases in NZ are untreated and undiagnosed, somethng like 15% of New Zealanders are affected by anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, social phobias, OCD (obsessive/compulsve disorder), PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and generalised anxiety.

The good news is that anxiety can be treated and tends to respond well to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

With CBT the relationship between thoughts and feelings and their impact on behaviour is discussed and you can identify irrational thinking styles and replace them with more balanced, rational and adaptive patterns of thought.

Deep breathing techniques are useful to help you gain more control.

Other helpful recommendations are to practice yoga, tai chi or meditation / mindfulness.

It is also helpful to cut down on / eliminate alcohol, caffeine and sugar, exercise regularly and practice remaining in the present moment.

Since attending a Project: Happiness workshop the same client now says:

"I can go through a day without sweating or shaking and no longer feel trapped by unnecessary worrying. Thanks Project: Happiness"
